Mark Ward: As Seen On TV

éS present Mark Ward: As Seen On TV at the Kemistry Gallery, Shoreditch.

For his latest solo exhibition, designer and illustrator Mark Ward has drawn inspiration from his healthy childhood diet of imported 1980s US television and Saturday morning cartoons. Describing the work as Americana meets British suburbia, Marks illustrations depict super-glossy American iconography juxtaposed with images of everyday British life. The resulting aesthetic is (as you can probably imagine) bright, brash and unashamedly colourful.

The opening night will also mark the launch of Marks very own A/W 2011 capsule collection. Designed in collaboration with skateboarding apparel brand éS, the collection will contain 4 tees, a jacket, cap and Le Brea shoes. The garments are distinctly urban and feature Marks trademark graphic illustrations and bold slogans.
